Students are exploring the concept of color through a variety of learning activities tailored to their individual needs. For some students, the focus is on color identification. Students in Room 504 are given the opportunity to receive targeted and individualized instruction aimed at their individualized learning goals. Student to teacher ratio is small providing lots of opportunities for students to get the instruction they need, tailored to their individual learning styles. Super Seniors in Room 512 are back on the job! The Room 512 Super Senior group participates in a variety of hands-on vocational activities that build practical skills and promote responsibility within the school community. Teamwork is the process of working collaboratively with a group of people to accomplish a shared goal. In this lesson, students engaged in a thoughtful discussion to define the word “coworker.” With guidance from staff and support from peers, they successfully identified coworkers and supervisors within the classroom environment. Rooms 215 and 222 participated in a hands-on art and sensory activity focused on creating pretend ice cream cones using cotton balls, glue, and colored water. Room 217

This school year, the students had a great time developing their reading, writing, and math skills through a variety of engaging and interactive activities. During group reading lessons, they participated in shared readings using stories from the Learning Without Tears reading program, each aligned with a letter of the alphabet. Room 217

Room 220

In room 220, the students have been working on identifying and sorting wet and dry food ingredients. To accomplish this goal, they have been working on both matching and sorting activities. There is a dry ingredient measuring cup and a measuring cup with a spout for wet ingredients. Students take Room 220

Community Living – School Restaurant Experience Students from Room 510 had a fun and engaging community living lesson during their visit to the school restaurant for snack time.
