The human body has many systems that work together to keep us alive and healthy. Two important systems are the circulatory system and the respiratory system. Things got a little “germy” in the 200-wing health class! In a recent lesson, students learned all about germs. They discovered that germs are tiny living things you cannot see. While not all germs are harmful, some can make us sick, so it’s important to keep them away. Students explored Program Center – Health Class

In Room 222, we combined creativity, learning, and a little bit of nature by building our very own miniature houses! Each student designed a small house using different shapes and colors, helping reinforce our understanding of basic geometry and color recognition in a fun and hands-on way. Student Council Makes a Difference with Community Soup Drive

The Midland School Student Council recently led a successful soup can collection to support the local community, highlighting the impact of teamwork and generosity. In February, students created and distributed flyers to staff and families to encourage participation. Thanks to this outreach, the drive collected more than 180 cans of Student Council Makes a Difference with Community Soup Drive

Room 504

Room 504 is dedicated to going out into the community once a month where we can apply all the life skills we are learning at Midland. Part of the Midland’s School vision is to ensure that we are preparing our students with life skills that will help them be as Room 504

Students in Room 209 participated in a St. Patrick’s Day themed learning experience designed to support literacy, communication, creativity, and fine motor development. The activity began with a class read-aloud of the story How to Catch a Leprechaun. During the story, students were encouraged to listen carefully and participate in Room 209

Super Seniors

Students in the Super Senior program work on developing strong social skills to help promote meaningful relationships, increase independence, and improve long-term outcomes in adult life. The students must be able to communicate effectively, follow directions, work cooperatively with others, advocate for their needs, and demonstrate appropriate behavior in the Super Seniors

The mission of the program is to assist students in developing functional, real-world skills that can be carried over into adult life, promoting greater independence and confidence. This week in room 212, our theme was all about snowmen! Our students participated in fun snowman-themed learning activities all week long. We read adventurous stories like Snowmen at Night, The Itsy-Bitsy Snowman, and If You’re a Snowman and You Know It, incorporating snowmen into all our daily learning activities. Room 212
