Wellness Center

The Wellness class is immersed in the digital world. Lessons and academic games are shown on the Smartboard, and follow-up games are on the Active Floor. Lessons include an introductory song, story, or video. Each lesson is adapted to match the grade and ability level of the class. The themes Wellness Center

Room 222

Using the PCI Education: Environmental Print series, students in Room 222 are learning a variety of language arts and social studies skills. Each week, the students listen to a story that incorporates community signs. Students have opportunities to answer questions about the story, identify vocabulary presented in the story, and Room 222

Room 506

In science, Room 506 is learning about solids, liquids, and gases. We started by looking at examples of each state of matter. Liquids take the shape of their container. This gave us an opportunity to use measuring tools. Students measured three individual cups of water and poured them into three Room 506

Room 512

Students in Room 512 have been quite busy this fall! They have been performing a number of jobs to help out around the school. The Sunshine Committee recently needed help making over 100 little suns…one for each staff member in the school. This job could sound daunting, unless you have Room 512

Room 511

Routines are a Big Part of Everyone’s Life Everyone has routines that they follow daily to help them stay organized with their day. The transition classes are learning the importance of following a routine. Each morning the students in Mrs. Tauscher’s class start their day by signing in to class, Room 511

You’ve Got Mail Students in Mrs. Serrano’s class have been busy learning how to write friendly letters to peers, as part of their Lifelong Learning skills. Program Center

In Program Center, we started out the school year with the book called There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books, by Lucille Colandro. It’s a spin-off of the book about the old lady who swallowed a fly, (then a spider, then a bird, then a …). The lady Program Center

The students in Room 217 have been learning about different typesof weather for our final science unit. Two of our favorite stories andactivities were about wind and clouds. The students in Room 219 have been active explorers!  Together they have been traveling around the state of New Jersey learning about the attractions and sights that our state has to offer. Instructional Highlights – Room 220

Room 220 is studying geography in social studies and the class illustrated a poem about  planet Earth. Students used Google Earth to review what Earth looks like from space.
