Room 215

This month, our social skills theme is Expressing Yourself Appropriately & Self-Regulation. In room 215, we discussed many emotions and how to self regulate. We discussed a self regulation tool, a sensory bottle! Each student was able to express themselves by choosing different colored glitter and beads to include! The Room 215

Room 212

Burr, it is cold outside! This was the perfect week for our preschools to explore and learn about animals that live in the cold. Our students participated in fun learning activities that focused on penguins, polar bears, and other arctic animals. We also practiced identifying the letter P and making Room 212

Brainella is back! The students in room 219 are learning about our amazing bodies. Brainella is helping us to learn about our brain. She taught us that our brain is like a sponge. It absorbs or takes in, a lot of information like letters, numbers and shapes. Holden demonstrated to Room 219

The students in room 217 enjoy completing weekly theme related STEM activities. Stem activities help us to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills and to explore these skills through hands-on learning. Room 510

During a recent student assembly, an environmentalist gave an engaging presentation about the diverse animals of New Jersey and their unique adaptations to the environment. This month, our social skills theme is Identifying and Understanding Feelings, which is a great topic for the month of December. Adapted Physical Education

Adapted physical education classes are participating in a jump rope unit. First, classes learned a basic jump technique: Feet close together, knees slightly bent, keeping back straight; with both feet at the same time, lower self, push off the ground and land on both feet. Wellness Center

The Wellness class is immersed in the digital world. Lessons and academic games are shown on the Smartboard, and follow-up games are on the Active Floor. Room 222

Using the PCI Education: Environmental Print series, students in Room 222 are learning a variety of language arts and social studies skills. Each week, the students listen to a story that incorporates community signs. Students have opportunities to answer questions about the story, identify vocabulary presented in the story, and Room 222

Room 506

In science, Room 506 is learning about solids, liquids, and gases. We started by looking at examples of each state of matter. Liquids take the shape of their container. This gave us an opportunity to use measuring tools. Students measured three individual cups of water and poured them into three Room 506
