Midland is Ally’s school. And by “Ally’s school” I mean that Midland was created for Ally and her peers. It is not a well-intended school trying to fit her in and meet her needs. And the school is comprised of her peers – not a segment of the population. She’s just one of the kids that goes to a school. And that was so important for us. She’s not fit into another program, that well intended people try to make something work. Its curriculum for her. Its afterschool programs for her. It’s about her. Not about making something work. Not sure if that makes sense – but it means the world to me and Michael.
