Super Seniors: The Heroes Behind the Scenes
On October 2nd, Midland School celebrated Custodian Appreciation Day in a big way! The celebration hallway was filled with colorful pictures, heartfelt notes, and proud photos of our amazing custodians — all to show our gratitude for their hard work.
But what happens when it’s time to take the display down?
Enter the Super Seniors — always ready to help behind the scenes! Not only did they hang the original display, but they also took on the important job of carefully removing it. Jordan and Andrew led the effort, thoughtfully taking down the pictures and organizing them. They then sorted the photos, notes, and coloring sheets and delivered them to the custodians’ mailboxes so each custodian could enjoy their special messages personally.
And that’s not all! When there was an early dismissal, families needed to be notified — and the Super Seniors were once again on the job. Once the office alerted the class that notices were ready, the team sprang into action. Shaylese and Izzy counted out the exact number of notices for each class, while Tommy clipped the appropriate room number to each stack. Then, Meghna quietly delivered the notices, slipping them into classroom mailboxes without disrupting learning.
Whether it’s celebrating staff or ensuring smooth communication, the Super Seniors take care of countless details that help our school run smoothly. Their quiet dedication and strong sense of responsibility make a big difference every day.
Room Dashers to the Rescue!
Sometimes, staff members need a little pick-me-up during their break — but with a busy schedule, making it to the school store isn’t always possible. That’s where the Super Seniors step in once again!
With just a quick email, staff can send their order to the Super Seniors, and the “Room Dashers-Amy, Leo and/or Aidan” take it from there. These helpful students collect the order form, dash to the school store, and pick up the requested items. Then, they deliver the goodies straight to the staff member’s room — no time wasted and treats in hand!
Thanks to the Super Seniors, staff can enjoy their favorite snacks and beverages while staying focused on their day. It’s just one more way this incredible group makes life a little sweeter (and easier!) at Midland School.
