In room 510 we are learning about being kind to others.  We listened to the book “Kindness Makes Me Stronger” by Elizabeth Cole.    After reading the book, we came up with ways that we could be kind to others.  Ideas included complimenting each other, helping each other within the classroom

Room 512 Welcomes Readtopia! In Room 512, the students have been using the newest Language Arts Literacy program called Readtopia.  “Readtopia is designed to support literacy and math instruction for students …with complex learning needs…Lessons are structured to provide both whole and small group instruction.” The students are enjoying the

Being a super senior is a big step for a student at Midland School. It means they have moved into the next phase of our program, focusing on transition skills from school to the community.  Mrs. Tauscher’s super seniors have begun working on assignments demonstrating and encouraging good first impressions

We’re off to a great start in program center. The students have been visiting the library to select books to take out on a weekly basis. We have many books on our shelves from which to choose, but our favorites, so far this year, have been the Pete the Cat

School Updates
Students in Room 508 are learning about living systems in science. Our lesson began with a discussion defining the meaning of the word ‘alive.’  With some brainstorming, the students shared that the word ‘alive’ means things that are living, things that breathe, things that grow and things that need food.
