Room 219

Brainella is back! The students in room 219 are learning about our amazing bodies. Brainella is helping us to learn about our brain. She taught us that our brain is like a sponge. It absorbs or takes in, a lot of information like letters, numbers and shapes.

Holden demonstrated to the class how our brain absorbs letters. Lexi put on her thinking cap to learn more about the functions of our brain. It also helps us to “think and do.” Next, we traveled down to our eyes. Bryce showed his classmates how to use a view master. All of the students had the opportunity to use their eyes to look at sea life, zoo animals and safari animals through view masters. Wow! What sights we were able to see.

Afterwards, we looked through magazines to find things we can see with our eyes. We added these to our model of an eye and made it into a flip booklet called, “I Spy With My Little Eyes.” Next stop, the nose. We practiced breathing through our nose so we could be ready for our next experiment, “Only the Nose Knows.” It was time to use our nose to guess what was inside each of the cups. You could only use your nose. No peeking! Two pictured choice cards were offered to the students to help with the guessing game. Learning about our bodies was so much fun!
