The Midland Art Program Artists of every age benefit from Midland’s Art classes.  Students learn about different art topics while using repetitive skills and familiar art materials. Room 504 recently completed a unit on weather. Room 506 enjoys choosing healthful snacks and simple meals to prepare in our independent living kitchen lessons. These lessons offer an opportunity to expand student’s language, practice life skills, choose healthful food choices, and give students a sense of independence. Football and snacks are perfect together Recently, during Super Bowl week, Mrs. Tauscher’s super seniors set up a snack sampling station for the staff. Program Center- The Color RED While learning about the Chinese New Year during program center lessons, we noticed that many things in the Chinese culture are red… the Chinese flag is red, the envelopes filled with money for gifts are red, and the lanterns hung up for festivals are red! Signing while Singing  In Chorus and Drama class the students enjoy learning songs with sign language. We sing a song called Kindness is Free from our music education magazine called Music K-8. Chinese New Year As part of our current events, students in room 508 read and learned about Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year!
