DESCRIPTION:  \n\nJoin us for an inspiring evening featuring Rule Breakers\, with introductory remarks by the film’s producer\, Laura Overdeck.\nFOR TICKETS CLICK HERE  \nOn Sunday\, November 23\, The Midland Foundation will host “Midland Goes to the Movies with PNC” featuring the inspirational Rule Breakers movie with a special guest appearance from the film’s producer\, Laura Overdeck. \n\nRule Breakers tells the true story of Roya Mahboob and the Afghan Dreamers\, the first all-girls robotics team from Afghanistan. Against deep cultural resistance\, Mahboob – a tech entrepreneur – opens doors for young women in STEM\, helping them overcome immense societal and political barriers to form a team and compete on the world stage. \nBased on real events\, the film celebrates courage\, perseverance\, and the power of education—values that resonate with Midland’s mission to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities reach their highest potential. \nCritics hail Rule Breakers as “rousing feel-good entertainment” (Aisle Seat)\, “inspirational in the best sense of the word” (The Hollywood Reporter)\, and “STEM power meets girl power” (Variety). \nDirected by Academy Award-winner Bill Guttentag\, Rule Breakers premiered March 7\, 2025\, and stars Ali Fazal\, Nikohl Boosheri\, and Fahim Fazli. \n  \n \nLaura Overdeck\, producer of Rule Breakers\, is an education reformer\, author\, and philanthropist.
