The students in Room 217 have been learning about different typesof weather for our final science unit. Two of our favorite stories andactivities were about wind and clouds. Instructional Highlights – Room 219

The students in Room 219 have been active explorers!  Together they have been traveling around the state of New Jersey learning about the attractions and sights that our state has to offer. Instructional Highlights – Room 220

Room 220 is studying geography in social studies and the class illustrated a poem about  planet Earth. Students used Google Earth to review what Earth looks like from space. Students learned that the Earth is made up of land, water, and air.  The class was shown a bottle of soil, Instructional Highlights – Room 220

Instructional Highlights – Health Class

In our first aid unit, classes learned that first aid is the immediate care given to an injured person. Students watched a BrainPop video showing community helpers such as policemen, firemen, paramedics, doctors/nurses. Students learned that these helpers respond to emergencies. Students in Mrs. Serrano’s class have been busy learning how to write friendly letters to peers, as part of their Lifelong Learning skills. Students viewed a short video outlining the five basic parts of writing a letter. Spring has sprung in the program center! The room is all abuzz with springtime computer activities. The students have been using their best computer skills including clicking on targets, clicking-and-dragging, systematically navigating a website and keyboarding to complete their assignments.
